- FAO and partners have launched the "Organic Soils and Peatlands Climate Change Mitigation Initiative" at the UNFCCC Climate Talks in Bonn, Germany. At the launch event, FAO released the initiative's first publication on guidance for mitigation from peatlands, which includes summaries of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions quantification methodologies.
- European Union Sustainable Energy Week events will take place across Europe. Events in Brussels will center around a high-level conference on the sustainable energy sector, which is expected to draw 4,000 participants from over 50 countries. Throughout the week other events will take place in parallel to draw attention to energy efficiency and sustainable energy themes.

- IOM has released a publication based on the proceedings of the workshop on "Climate Change, Environmental Degradation and Migration" held in Geneva, Switzerland, in March 2011. The workshop discussed a comprehensive approach to managing environmental migration, sustainable solutions to protect those affected, and the role of migration as an adaptation strategy.
- The newsletter focuses on projects in Tonga, the development of the Global Atlas for Solar and Wind Energy, workshops on the CDM and Tonga's Energy Roadmap, and new UNDP and IEA reports.
- Responding to a mandate from Heads of State, three Central American Integration System (SICA) institutions jointly convened a workshop on mainstreaming gender into national and regional policies, programmes and instruments on climate change and disaster risk management policies that will result in a regional "roadmap" on the issue.

- The International Energy Agency (IEA) Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (SHC) has published “Solar Heat Worldwide: Markets and Contribution to the Energy Supply 2010," a report that documents the solar thermal capacity in worldwide markets and more.

- The 14th Regular Session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN-14) will provide a platform for African Ministers to debate the key outcomes of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), and address other emerging issues related to sustainable development and the environment in Africa. - An Informal Ministerial Roundtable on Climate Change brought together representatives from 30 countries, including from LDCs and AOSIS. The Roundtable was convened by Connie Hedegaard, European Commissioner for Climate Action, who called on countries to keep up the momentum created in Durban on climate change and to make progress at Rio+20.
- In partnership with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) launched a 2012-2015 campaign to improve vehicle fuel economy around the world. The 2012-2015 targets include the completion of in-country assessments and development of new outreach materials for governments and industry.
- The International Transport Forum (ITF) released its 2012 Transport Outlook on Seamless Transport for Greener Growth. The Outlook underscored the need for a seamless transport system for greener growth and continued technological change to reduce the transport sector's global carbon footprint.
